Just spent a week in the Woodsman cabin with my wife and two dogs. The cabin was clean and comfortable and set back on a terraced hillside. It’s a great place to get away. The deck was nice to kick back and relax on and the fire pit was nice as well. Within short driving distance to beautiful hikes, kayaking, great food, breathtaking views. I’ve backpacked through the canyon lands in Utah, climbed 14ers in Colorado and white water rafted down rivers through Utah and Colorado. The natural beauty of Red River Gorge and the natural Bridges and the forests are literally breathtaking. Let me tell you, I used to think “West is best” well I was mistaken. There is so much beauty in this great country no matter where you venture. Take time to go and take in this beautiful part of the country.

My wife and I recently spent three days at Appalachian Lookout. The cabin was spotless and cozy. Nice to soak in the hot tub after a day of hiking. Relaxing by the fireplace was very comfortable. The bed was super comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked. We grilled some steaks on the deck and enjoyed the peace and quiet while sitting on the deck. The fire ring was nice to sit by and enjoy the stars above us. The location is close to the Gorge. We enjoyed some great pizza at Miguel's Pizza in Slade. It was so quiet and private. The only sounds were the birds during the day and the tumbling stream nearby. Appalachian Lookout will be our go-to slice of nature from now on when we visit the Red River Gorge area. The owners and the management team truly spent time to make this cabin worthy of your stay.

Really enjoyed our stay. The owners were very accessible thru email prior to our trip. The cabin was clean, and check in was easy. Everything was in working order. The kitchen was well stocked with everything necessary for cooking. I walked on the hiking trails on the property, and they were nice as well. I would highly recommend Cabins of Birch Hollow.

Spacious and secluded cabin in the beautiful foothills of the Red River Gorge. Came with a group of friends and had an absolute blast. The large wrap around porch and the hot tub really made it that much better. Also proximity to hiking and rock climbing made this the perfect spot. Definitely recommend to anyone

I just spent 3. 5 days & 3 glorious nights at The Woodsman cabin. I loved the front porch and the cabin's private wooded lot. Each cabin sets way away from the others, so they're not crowded on top of one another. The amenities of the cabin were very nice. Ceiling fans, washing machine & dryer, dish washer, walk in shower, very very comfortable beds, satellite TV, Internet (yes, even in the hills of Red River Gorge), outdoor grill, hot tub, ceiling fan on front porch, dining table & chairs on front porch. It was sooo peaceful, relaxing & beautiful. Dale, the owner is very accommodating. Loved my stay with here with my grown sons.

We recently stayed in Sundance on the Lake. This is a beautiful cabin with fantastic views. There are a couple of reasons I couldn’t give it 5 stars. The main reason being the water in the cabin stunk (had a very bad sulfur smell). We stayed at this cabin before & don’t remember the water smelling at all. Also, it would be nice to have somewhere to hang clothes.

Our entire family (ages ranging from 5 to 55). just spent 7 days at Southern Comfort at the Cabins of Birch Hollow. The house was amazing. It was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could ever need (with the exception of food and drinks). Plenty of towels, extra blankets, garbage bags, and even laundry detergent were provided. The on-site washer and dryer came in so handy after spending our days hiking the Gorge. The cabins are in a private development, but they are positioned in a way that you feel totally secluded when relaxing in the hot tub or sitting by the fire pit. There is even a private train to hike right in the development. Internet and Satellite worked great all week, even with multiple people logged on at the same time. The house is well laid out and we never felt the least bit cramped. Proximity is a short drive (less than 30 minutes) to Nada Tunnel, the Natural Bridge, and The Red River Gorge in Daniel Boone National Forest. Although this is not at all a “touristy” area, if you love spending time outdoors, you will never get bored. We hiked, rock climbed, zip lined, took scenic rides, and the guys even took a day trip to start the Bourbon Trail. The only complaint we had is that we couldn’t spend more time enjoying this beautiful area! Katy and crew at Birch Hollow were fantastic! They even stopped by to see if we needed any extra supplies. We will definitely be returning to this amazing place!
